Some perfumes are made to fill a room; Montblanc Paper Musk seems to aim for the opposite: a clean, soft, close-to-the-skin feeling, like the memory of a fresh sheet of paper. The name sets the scene; the listed notes are more concrete: citrus, white musk, orange blossom and cashmere.
It is a new unisex fragrance for 2026, created by Nathalie Lorson and Ilias Ermenidis. There are very few opinions so far and we have not tried it, so we separate confirmed details from what its composition might suggest.

A blank page with a signature of its own
Paper Musk does not appear to rely on an elaborate pyramid. Its opening pairs bergamot’s citrus sparkle with white musk; orange blossom follows, while cashmere forms the base. The combination promises more in texture and feel than in a succession of loud notes.
Paper Musk is expected to join Montblanc Collection. Fragrances in this line come in 125 ml bottles and are Eau de Parfum, so that is the expected size and concentration for this release too, although Montblanc has not published an individual product listing yet.
The name Paper Musk invites an image of clean paper and almost textile-like softness, but that is an interpretation of the name, not an official brand description. On skin, we will need to find out how prominent the citrus is, whether orange blossom takes the lead and what “cashmere” means here in terms of warmth and longevity.
How it might smell: the notes
This is the pyramid listed on Fragrantica. We have not tried the fragrance; the descriptions below interpret the listed notes and are not a personal review.
Top notes
the first minutes- Bergamot
- White musk
Bergamot may bring a fresh, bright opening. White musk is present from the start, so the clean effect could carry through the fragrance’s development.
Heart note
the first hours- Orange blossom
Orange blossom often adds a white floral, slightly citrusy nuance that connects the opening to a softer base.
Base note
what lingers on the skin- Cashmere
The cashmere note points to a soft, enveloping woody base. Its actual character and longevity can only be judged by wearing the fragrance.
A clean daytime profile
On paper, Paper Musk may appeal to anyone looking for an understated musk fragrance with a citrus opening and floral heart. The combination seems better suited to daytime and mild weather than to a dark evening scent, though that is a hypothesis based on the notes, not a recommendation from wearing it.
Scent profile
- White floral100
- Citrus83
- Musky57
- Powdery40
- Sweet33
- Woody30
- Soapy25
- Animalic25
White floral and citrus lead the profile, with musk in third place. Powdery, sweet and woody facets appear less strongly, while soapy and animalic nuances are subtler still. With so few votes, this balance may change.

First opinions: it is too early to tell
Fragrantica currently shows a rating of 5 out of 5, but it comes from a single vote. Such a small sample cannot tell us whether people generally like it or predict its longevity and projection. For now, the note pyramid is more useful than the score.
Price and availability
Other Montblanc Collection fragrances are priced at €170 on Montblanc’s official website. Based on that reference, we expect Paper Musk to be similarly priced when it joins the collection. This is not yet an official price for this fragrance: Montblanc has not published its individual price, and we have not confirmed availability from Spanish retailers.
The €170 figure is an estimate based on current Montblanc Collection pricing. We will update the article when Paper Musk’s price and availability are announced.
Our early take
Paper Musk has a simple, easy-to-grasp proposition: citrus, musk, white florals and a soft base. It may appeal if you want a clean scent that is not overtly sporty, but several important questions remain:
- It promises: a bergamot and musk pairing that could feel fresh and comfortable.
- It promises: an orange blossom heart for a recognisable floral nuance.
- To check: whether cashmere adds warmth or remains a barely perceptible base.
- To check: actual longevity and projection, and whether the final price will be €170 when it reaches Spain.
- To check: whether the idea of “clean paper” actually comes through on skin; the name alone cannot guarantee it.
